Asian Local Leaders Forum for Disaster Resilience (ALL4DR) award at the APMCDRR 2022, Brisbane, Australia

ADRRN and its localisation hub SEEDS celebrated the power of local champions at the 2022 Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference for Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR) at Brisbane, for their invaluable contribution towards community resilience. Over 75 high quality nominations for local champions were received across the Asia and the Pacific.

Four champions were felicitated at the ceremony in presence of over 100 delegates. The champions were Anna Katrina Aspuria, Philippines; Doddy Kaliri, Indonesia; Joanne Murrell, Australia and Fr.(Dr.) Paul Moonjely, India.

The event also saw key dignitaries Ms Mami Mizutori, Special Representative of the Secretary General (SRSG) for Disaster Risk Reduction; Mr Raditya Jati, Deputy Minister of System and Strategy, National Disaster Management Authority (BNPB), Indonesia; Ms Vasiti Soko, Director, National Disaster Management Office (NDMO), Fiji and Ms Maria Antonia Yulo Loyzaga, Secretary, Dept. of Environment and Natural Resources, Philippines for being the national and global leaders for empowering local leaders. The event saw wide appreciation across the conference.
