On July 15th, devastating floods swept through Nangarhar, Kunar, and Laghman provinces in Afghanistan, leaving a trail of destruction and significantly impacting the lives of thousands of residents. We at ADRRN stand in solidarity with our affected communities and urgently appeal for support to aid in the humanitarian response.
The floods have tragically claimed 33 lives so far, with 347 people injured. These numbers are expected to rise as search and rescue efforts continue. The destruction has been extensive, with infrastructure, homes, agricultural land, and schools severely damaged. This disruption has left essential services and livelihoods in disarray, affecting countless families, agricultural workers, educational institutions, and health services.
COAR, in collaboration with other humanitarian organisations, has swiftly conducted a rapid assessment to understand the full extent of the damage and identify priority needs. They are actively coordinating a comprehensive response plan to support the affected communities.
In these trying times, the immediate needs are immense. There is an urgent need for medical care, temporary shelter, clean water, food assistance, and infrastructure repairs.
We humbly request our network members, partners, and the international community to support this critical effort by sharing this appeal and detailed response HERE . Please do share with other potential supporters, you can play a vital role in ensuring that the necessary aid reaches those in desperate need. Your generous contributions will make a significant difference in alleviating the suffering of flood-affected populations and supporting their recovery efforts.
We stand united with the people of Nangarhar, Kunar, and Laghman during this challenging time. Together, we can help rebuild lives and communities.
Thank you for your support and solidarity.
