To mark International Women’s Day 2025, ADRRN hosted an insightful webinar,
‘Accelerate Action: Empowering Women in Disaster Risk Reduction for Resilient
Communities.’ This conversation brought together diverse voices from the disaster risk reduction community to discuss the vital role of women in building resilience and ensuring inclusive disaster preparedness.

Women are at the forefront of disaster resilience, yet systemic barriers often limit their participation in decision-making and policy development. This webinar explored the intersection of gender and disaster preparedness, focusing on actionable strategies to empower women in DRR at local, national, and regional levels. The discussion reinforced the importance of amplifying women’s voices in disaster resilience and fostering solidarity among women on the frontlines of disaster response.
