Over the years, ADRRN has strengthened the voice of Asian Civil Societies through action, governance, as well as advocacy and education. It has had much success in areas that include:
Bringing together varied expertise: ADRRN has brought different strengths of various civil societies together under one network to reduce disaster risks. Joint projects among ADRRN members have demonstrated the positive impact of sharing different skills and have achieved positive results in various countries.
Promoting traditional knowledge: Asia is a vast continent and a wealth of traditional knowledge exists among communities living in vulnerable areas. Recognising its importance, ADRRN works to share these tools and knowledge among different communities.
Coordination and resource sharing: Through the use of traditional and web platforms, resource sharing and coordination among members has improved significantly.
Advocacy: An active presence in regional, cross-regional and international forums has earned ADRRN the status of the Civil Society Voice of Asia.

Creating locally appropriate materials: Joint publications with different ADRRN members in their local languages have helped raise widespread awareness of different DRR issues.
Accountability: ADRRN members are committed to being accountable to affected communities and ensuring the effective use of resources. Different tools and mechanisms are being promoted to increase the accountability of all stakeholders.

Despite the challenges, ADRRN continues to actively strive towards its vision of safe community environments and disaster resilient societies in the region, with a focus on four main objectives.
  • Promoting grassroot innovation by combining scientific knowledge with local wisdom.
  • Amplifying civil society voices through strategic policy advocacy and communications at multilevel platforms.
  • Facilitating institutional and organisational support to national and local civil societies in Asia to enhance accountability.
  • Expanding reach and engagement in order to better promote coordination between different stakeholders.
