ADRRN members join together to promote school safety

Representatives from Care Society Maldives, SEEDS India, and MERCY Malaysia teamed up address how safe our children are during emergencies. Children around the world spend a large part of their days in school buildings. Without proper review and updating, these schools can actually put children at risk during a natural disaster or emergency. Mr. Manu Gupta, Executive Director of SEEDS India, led a training of concerned humanitarians and community members to better understand how we can protect and prepare our children. This included a visit to a local Malaysian School where participants identified possible hazards and proposed more effective evacuation routes and emergency procedures.  This is one of many School Safety trainings that ADRRN is helping to lead throughout the region.
