FBA has assisted 504 businesses increases up to 11, 25% from December 2006, 453 businesses assisted covering 36 sub-districts in Aceh.
From 504, 124 businesses are run by women which is 24, 60%. This number has increased from last month which is 23,38 %.
With support from International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), FBA has assisted 9 students from local school in Aceh: 5 from SD 39 Banda Aceh and 4 from SMP 17. Its plan that the 9 students will be donated until they finish high school.
SD 101 Lampoh Daya has increased his capacity in teaching learning with continuous support from Dublin Community through extension program to support both schools and students.
FBA works based on actual needs of the people in Aceh. Thus, area of working many increases day by day. Recently, there are four main sub-districts where there are more that 45 businesses in each.
FBA now is developing production businesses particularly natural resource base businesses e.g. lobster farm, fresh water fish farm, etc.
FBA is very interested to empower woman, for example in businesses to support their families’ economy. Therefore, they are encouraged to apply through FBA local motivators in each sub-district.
